Three of my close friends have just popped out round two of babies in the last 4 weeks. They all have relatively young toddlers. Whilst a newborn brings great joy and delight to a family, it can also signify the end of an ‘only child’ reign. Which at an age where your cognitive development ain’t fully developed it must be a pretty tricky thing to understand and also a difficult emotion for parents to juggle and negotiate.

So my tip, don’t forget the sibling - even if its just some more focused attention or a little gift, don’t forget that whilst in a few months they will not remember life without them, those first months can be a little trickier for some!
