A Great Plan With Plan Toys!

plantoys_clacker-1_largeIt’s no news that we love a wooden toy at The Hip Infant, I particularly like the selection available from Plan Toys; The Noah’s Ark (great christening gift if you’re a Godparent), the Wooden Rattle Mobile and the Fire Engine. But what I love is the Clatter Musical Toy. It’s Goldilocks’ birthday next week and I’m going to get her this. She loves a shaker and tambourine and I’m too mean a mother to buy her a recorder, so I feel like this might hit the spot!

It’s brightly coloured and involves good hand eye co-ordination with the two handle movement required to make the desired sound that can go from a gentle ripple to a clattering crescendo!

Plan Toys, a great selection of wooden toys for all ages! Pardon the pun, but that’s a plan!

There was an old lady who lived in a shoe…but I don’t know why she didn’t live in a Goki shape sorter house!

Yes yes, you know we love a wooden toy at The Hip Infant, but this gorgeous little wooden shape sorter puzzle from Goki is devine and just furthers our argument for why wood is in and plastic is out!

A perfect toy for hand hand eye co-ordination and just right for boys or girls. The lovely red roof and 6 bright colourful shapes are painted with water based paints containing no solvents – it’s nice to know you’re getting a product that looks after both our environment and our little ones. We particularly love the green heart shape block, something a little different from the usual circles and squares!

So pretty you don’t want to pack it into the toy box at the end of the day. Perfect for one year olds and up!

Heimess Has Had A Makeover!

Yep its true Heimess have had a makeover and we are loving it! With a strong oceanic vibe this little pirate and mermaid are too cute for words.

Why do we love wooden toys?  the list could be enormous but looking at it from a babies perspective wooden toys are warmer and softer than plastic toys, we don’t suck on toys often but if we were babes wood would definantly be a better option. The colours in wooden toys are brilliant, strong and oh so apealing and lastly the sound of wood clanging together is so much more pleasing to the ears than hard old plastic.

From a safety aspect all of the wooden toys we stock meet Australia’s strict safety standards. All paints used are non toxic water based paints and lacquers, bells and clips are stainless steel and rust and nickel free. So in short your precious little bundle will not be exposed to any nasties.

In short, wooden toys can be a little on the pricier side but we can assure you, they can be passed down from child to child and are certainly more bang for your buck!
